Linden clean sweeps first ever Kayaking Nationals

Linden were the resounding champions at the historic Inter-District Kayaking Competition at the Linden Riverfront Festival last weekend.


Linden, representing the Upper Demerara/Kwakwani district, brought first in every category at the National Schools District Kayaking Championship held at the Watooka Guest house.


Karmin Small, Coordinator of the event said, “The only district that did not take part here today is the Georgetown district, North Georgetown/South Georgetown and East Georgetown. But all the other districts took part in this event.”

Students were rewarded with trophies and medals. They excelled above 14 other districts. On May 2, the first-ever Inter-Schools Kayaking Competition was hosted. The Nationals were then held on Monday, July 4.
