The Guyana Volleyball Federation will begin its Volleyball year with its first tournament being the Lennie Schuffler birth anniversary competition beginning on March 6th.

Both male and female teams will be in action.

Over the recent year as the sport re-emerged following the covid-19 pandemic, there have not been many opportunities for female volleyball players to compete.

The male category of the competition begins on March 6th with a number of top teams from across Guyana expected to compete.

The Port Mourant Training Centre Team, who won last yearā€™s Inaugural Powerzone Championships, are anticipated to attend.

Other teams expected to challenge are the Rollers, Castrol Strikers, Eagles, Achievers, Bartica and the Guyana Defence Force.

In the female category, which is slated to begin on March 20th, the Pakuri Warriors, womenā€™s Castrol Strikers, Eagles, Laluni and Rainbow Rangers should be in attendance.

Hopetown Strikers, which is a team formed only last year, are also expected to attend.

All matches will be played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from 9 am sharp
