- To develop the capacity of Guyana’s workforce in the oil and gas industry
Local construction company GAICO and international energy company REV-1 Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to transfer and share expertise with the local workforce in Guyana.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Managing Director of GAICO Construction Komal Singh and the Chief Executive Officer of REV-1 Energy Ricky Ehrgott in the presence of the Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar. This is an agreement that will see the local workforce’s capacity being developed through a joint venture. According to the Managing Director of GAICO, the international company would bring expertise and skillsets that are required for the massive transformational development that is taking place in Guyana.
"Our intention is to bring those companies that worked in those areas and have the expertise that can come to Guyana and transfer that knowledge to our local Guyanese workforce,"
REV-1 energy provides consultancy and project management for industrial projects around the world. Chief Executive Officer of REV-1 Energy Ricky Ehrgott said it is looking forward to working together with the construction company.
"It’s really exciting, we are looking forward to working with GAICO, we are really looking forward to grow the local economy and local talent, helping them train and be a part of the local economy for a long time,"
Ehrgott said. Meanwhile, the Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar is encouraging other companies to form similar partnerships. According to Minister Indar,
“People will develop, and when you have it being led by a local company that has the reputation of doing shore bases and all of these things, well it’s a perfect match. So we encourage people to do that,”
