A 44-year-old man is now dead while seven others are hospitalised after being attacked by Africanized bees at a koker in the No. 29 Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) on Thursday.
Dead is 71-year-old Winston Rigby of No. 40 Village, WCB. Those injured are Basil Davie, 56, of Bush Lot Village, Kenneth Rigby,72, of El Dorado Village, Kenneth Hero, 56, of No. 28 Village, Leon Bobb, 61, of Belladrum Village, Glenroy Fraser, 62, of No. 22 Bel Air, Charles Cadogan, 59, of No. 22 Bel Air and Winston Rigby, 71, of No. 41 Village.
MTV News Update understands that the incident took place around 13:30h while the men were making their way to the Public Road from the seashore.
Rigby died as a result of the attack while the other seven men received stings along their bodies.
