The Ministry of Health has opened registration for dialysis patients to receive the support of $600,000 to offset the costs of their dialysis treatment.
Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony says the Ministry of Health intends to commence the distribution of the $600,000 to dialysis patients by next week.
However, patients must first be registered before they can receive their monies.
"So anyone who knows of anybody who needs dialysis can get them to register with the ministry…..so we’re urging that people get registered as quickly as possible."
Persons who are registering would have to provide the ministry with a valid form of identification and a medical report to support their condition.
"We of course would have to validate that that person is actually on dialysis, or was recommended for dialysis, then we’ll be able to issue them with funding."
Some $180M was allocated in the national budget to offset this initiative.
