Crane teacher's murder: Husband arrested at hotel in Berbice

Murder suspect, Clarence Farley

After a week of evading law enforcement officials, 40-year-old Clarence Farley was arrested today at the Malinmar Hotel, located at No. 78 Village, Corriverton, Berbice.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) revealed that he was arrested at about 19:50h in room nine of the hotel.

"He was told of the allegation, cautioned, and arrested. He was escorted to Springlands Police Station where he was placed in custody," the GPF said.

Police had issued a wanted bulletin for Farley after his wife, 41-year-old Omega Ault, was found in a state of decomposition at her Crane, West Coast Demerara (WCD) home on May 24.

MTV News Update previously reported that Ault was living with her husband and their three-year-old son but was encountering "problems" in her marriage.

A Post Mortem Examination (PME) conducted on Ault, a teacher, found that she died as a result of bleeding in the brain caused by blunt trauma to the head.
