Decomposed body of teacher found in home; Police hunting for husband
The body of a 41-year-old teacher was found in a state of decomposition at her Crane, West Coast Demerara (WCD) home on Friday.
The dead woman has been identified as Omega Ault, a teacher of Crane Public Road, WCD. She was found at about 17:00h.
The woman’s brother, Kevin Ault, told investigators that he had been calling his sister for the last two weeks but was not getting through to her.
As a result, he went to her home, and after calling out for her, he did not get any response. This prompted him to go inside, where a high stench was detected coming from the bedroom.
He went into the front bedroom and saw his sister’s body lying motionless in a decomposed state.
He then reported the matter to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station, after which a party of police ranks visited the scene.
Reports are that the woman was living with her husband and three-year-old son but was encountering “problems” in her marriage.
It was revealed that four days ago, the woman’s husband took their son to his aunt and told her that he was heading into the “backdam.”
Since then, he has not been seen. Following the gruesome discovery, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) issued a wanted bulletin for him. He has been identified as Clarence Farley.
