Beautician charged with derogatory social media post about singer

Thirty-two-year-old Beautician Onika Pompey was today released on $200,000 bail after being charged for allegedly making a derogatory Facebook post about the singer and former Soca Monarch winner Kwasi Edmondson.

Pompey was hauled before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that between October 29 – November 8, 2021, she made a derogatory Facebook post about Edmondson.
After listening to the particulars of the matter, Magistrate McLennan released Pompey on $200,000 bail on the condition that she reports to the Gender-based Unit at the Brickdam Police Station every first and last Friday of every month. She is scheduled to make another appearance on April 27, 2022.
