Woman, 24, fatally shot by twin sister’s ex-boyfriend
Twenty-four-year-old Ashanti Liverpool was shot dead on Tuesday morning reportedly by her twin sister’s ex-boyfriend.
MTV News Update understands that Ashanti’s twin sister, Ishanti Liverpool, shared a relationship with the suspect, who has been identified as Stephan Hope, a security guard.
Reports are that Hope went to the twin’s home at Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD), armed with a gun, in search of Ishanti.
However, Ashanti, who was in her bedroom with her boyfriend, was confronted by Hope, who questioned her about her sister’s whereabouts.
As she ran to locate her sister to inform her that Hope was with a gun looking for her, the suspect fired a fatal shot.
The suspect is presently under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Police have since seized the Armalite Rifle (AR 15) used by Hope, which was issued to a security company.
