Police Prosecution, Orin Joseph did not object to bail but asked that the bail be paid in cash and both accused lodge their travel documents and report to the station twice monthly.

According to information received, on the evening of Saturday last at a popular bar at Albion on the Corentyne, a female who was a patron at the time informed the security guard on duty that there was a male armed with a firearm in the establishment and that he was threatening her.

MTV News Update understands that the security guard then arrested the man and took away the firearm after which the police were informed of the incident. The suspect along with the firearm were handed over to the cops.

However, on their way to the Albion Police Station, the officers diverted to the Rose Hall Police Outpost on the Corentyne where they began negotiating with the suspect who allegedly offered the three ranks $400,000 cash to be released along with the firearm.

After hearing the case, the magistrate adjourned the matter for October 18, 2022.
