Police summoned to calm crowd at New Amsterdam hospital after death of woman

Doctors attached to the New Amsterdam Regional Hospital were today forced to seek refuge in a room after family members of a woman who died at the institution stormed the Accident & Emergency Unit.

This was revealed by a source who was on the scene at the time of the incident.

However, when contacted, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Hospital, Bob Ramnauth, confirmed that a woman had passed away, and her relatives stormed the institution after learning about her demise.

The woman was a patient at the hospital but took self-discharge. She, however, fell ill and was rushed back to the medical facility for further care.

The hospital’s CEO clarified that no patients were left unattended at no point. He noted that the Police had to be called in to quell the situation.

But based on information reaching MTV News Update, after storming the building, some doctors went into a nearby room while they waited on the relatives to be evacuated from the Unit.

It was reported that a 16-year-old relative also fainted during the ordeal but regained consciousness shortly after.
