‘Peacock’ arrested with cocaine

Twenty-nine-year-old Anil Sugrim, called ‘Peacock,’ was on Sunday arrested with 2.5 grams of cocaine.

The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that it received information and went to Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara (ECD), where they spoke with Sugrim.

Sugrim consented to a request from the ranks to carry out a search on his person. During the search, several ziplock bags containing rock-like substances suspected to be cocaine were discovered in his right side front pocket.

He was told of the offence, cautioned, and arrested. He was taken into custody at the Vigilance Police Station and is slated to be charged.
