Mother, daughter and niece killed in collision along St. Cuthbert's Mission Trail

A head-on collision on the St. Cuthbert’s Mission trail on Saturday evening has claimed the lives of three family members. 

Dead is Athena Andrews, her mother, Olive Andrews, and her niece, Emma Andrews.

The collision, which occurred at approximately 18:30h, involved two motor cars travelling in opposite directions.

According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), motor car PXX 4949, driven by Josh Simon of St. Cuthbert’s Mission, collided with motor car PAE 5140, driven by Fidell, also from the same area.

The crash resulted in the deaths of the three individuals. The other individuals involved in the crash were transported to the Diamond Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Police Force has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
