Mechanic admits to selling cocaine at ‘drug block’ in Linden

A mechanic was arrested during a police operation in the mining town of Linden on Tuesday.


According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), a raid was conducted at a known 'drug block' located at Rainbow City, MacKenzie Linden.


Several persons of interest were searched during the drug and gun eradication exercise.


A 54-year-old mechanic of Amelia's Ward, Linden, was searched, and one transparent plastic bag that contained several creamish substances suspected to be cocaine was found.


After being informed of the offence and cautioned, the suspect admitted that he sells the suspected cocaine.


He was subsequently arrested and escorted to the MacKenzie Police Station with the suspected cocaine, which was weighed in his presence and amounted to four grams. The man is in custody pending charges. Nevertheless, investigations are ongoing.
