Mason succumbs following Bachelor's Adventure shooting


Merely hours after being shot to the abdomen at Bachelor's Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD), 44-year-old Kevin Phillips succumbed to his injuries.


This was confirmed by the Director of the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), Mark Ramotar.


Phillips, a mason of Melanie, ECD was shot at about 22:20h, while sitting on a culvert near the Bachelor's Adventure Middle Road.


An eyewitness told Police that he was driving along the Bachelor's Adventure Middle Road when he noticed a male brandishing a handgun, approached Phillips, and fired a gunshot.


The suspect then fled the scene through a cross street, and the mason was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by the eyewitness and underwent surgery. However, he succumbed this morning. Police are presently hunting for the suspect.
