Man who stole phone from DSL gets $40,000 bail

A Prashad Nagar man who had stolen a cellphone from the DSL Cash & Carry’s Sheriff Street branch was today slapped with a robbery charge.

Luke Emmanuel from 145 Prashad Nagar arraigned before Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge.


The court heard that on March 11, 2022, at Sheriff Street, Campbellville stole a motor roller 7G cellphone worth $60,000 from DSL Cash & Carry. The court further heard that the cellphone was later found in his possession.

The prosecution representing the state had no objection to bail, and the accused was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 and is scheduled to make another court appearance on March 30, 2022.
