Man shot after allegedly shooting cops at Haslington
A man was this afternoon shot by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) at Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), after he allegedly opened fire on them.
Dead is Quindon Bacchus of Haslington, ECD.
A brief statement by the GPF said that ranks went to the location where a man with a firearm was seen.
According to the GPF, as they approached him, he fired at them, prompting officers to return fire.
“A .380 pistol, one live round, and one spent shell was recovered at the scene,” the GPF said.
The suspect, who was injured in the process was taken to a city hospital. It is unclear if he is alive.
