Man found dead on America Street

The body of a male of East Indian descent, who the Guyana Police Force (GPF) is between the age of 35-40, was discovered this morning at Lot 16 America Street, Georgetown.

According to the GPF’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the man was found at about 01:20h.

“The man, who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium built, brown in complexion, with short hair, was dressed in a black t-shirt and short blue pants,” the CCU said in a statement.

The CCU said several persons were questioned, but no useful information was received. However, CCTV footage was collected and is yet to be reviewed.

The body was examined, but no marks of violence were seen. Investigations are ongoing.
