Labourer arrested for allegedly raping 12-year-old girl

Police have arrested a 28-year-old labourer in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl.

In a brief statement, the Guyana Police Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said the incident occurred on Saturday in Region Three.

MTV News Update was informed that the labourer went to the victim’s house and told her that he had caught a caiman and asked her if she wanted to see it.

The child agreed, and the suspect, while taking her to the location, threw her on the ground, covered her mouth, and allegedly committed the act. He then escaped but was later apprehended.
