Hire car driver accused of raping 14 year old girl out on station bail

A Corentyne hire car driver has been released on $50,000 station bail after he picked up a 14-year-old school girl, refused to drop her off at school, but instead took her to New Amsterdam where he attempted to have sex with her on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Ameer Ally of Sandreef Albion on the Corentyne.

According to the teen’s father, the girl left home on Monday at about 8:00 hours to attend school in Rose Hall Town. He said the suspect who operates a hire car was passing at the time and he asked the teen if she was heading to school and she joined the vehicle.

Based on what the teen reported to her parent, after joining the vehicle the suspect went in the opposite direction and told the teen that he was going to purchase gas for the vehicle after which he will drop her at school, but he continued heading to New Amsterdam where he asked the teen to have sex with her and she refused.

MTV News Update understands that the driver locked the car doors and refused to allow the teen to exit the vehicle. However, the suspect kept the teen until minutes after midday on the said day and then dropped her off at the head of the street where she resides.

The mother further revealed that the teen consumed a poisonous substance sometime after 14:00 hours that day and it was after being questioned that she revealed what transpired. The teen was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where she is admitted as a patient.

Family members of the teen are calling on the relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation is done into the matter. The mother of the teen also disclosed that she visited the teen at the hospital and was told that the suspect in the presence of a police officer visited the teen and took records of her condition. She noted that family members are afraid that the suspect could revisit the hospital and harm the teen.

Meanwhile, Regional Commander Boodnarine Persaud confirmed that the police are actively engaged in a rape investigation against the hire car driver who was released Thursday on station bail. However, he would not divulge any additional information about the incident but noted that an examination to determine whether the teen was raped would have to be done.
