Gains for six West Indians in ICC Men's Test Player Rankings
Kemar Roach has made significant advances in the updated international Test Player rankings, while five other West Indies cricketers have also made gains.
West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach has made substantial progress in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings after some fine performances in the first match of their ICC World Test Championship series in Antigua.
Player of the Match Roach grabbed seven wickets in the Test, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings, moving into the top 10 for the first time in more than two years.
He has progressed from 12th to 8th position, just one off his career-best seventh rank attained in December 2014.
West Indies test Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite has inched up one place to 28th after scoring 94 in the first innings.
In the batters list, West Indies cricketer Jermaine Blackwood has also advanced, moving up six places to 33rd while John Campbell is up 11 places to 81st.
In the bowlers list, two players have also made gains.
Kyle Mayers is up five places to 40th and Alzarri Joseph is up nine places to 48th.
The West Indies have played undefeated in test matches so far for this year with Head Coach Phil Simmons aiming to maintain this streak for the remainder of the year.
