Updated: May 28, 2022

Deon Cromwell, a 31-year-old vendor, and Ceon Maynard, a 26-year-old construction worker were today hauled before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus after they were slapped with a joint charge of armed robbery.

The duo denied the charge, which stated that on January 19, 2022, at Water Street, while being armed with a gun, they robbed Randal Singh of one .32 semi-automatic pistol, 14 matching rounds, a gold chain, and a ring along with cash totaling $631,000.

The court heard that on the day in question, the victim was ambushed by the duo and held at gunpoint.

The matter was reported to the police, and Cromwell and Maynard were later arrested. The Magistrate after listening to the facts of the matter remanded the duo to prison until February 28, 2022.
