DJ dies in Mahaicony accident, three others injured
Shemroy Henry, a 27-year-old Disc Jockey (DJ), died on Tuesday night following an accident on the Cottage Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
At the time of the incident, Henry, who hails from Belmont Mahaicony, was driving motor car PAE 7812. Three occupants, ages 17, 20, and 26, were in the vehicle with him: two females and a male.
Police said the car was proceeding east along the northern side of the road at an alleged fast rate when Henry lost control of the vehicle and ended up on the southern side, colliding with a concrete fence and then into a GTT pole.
As a result of the collision, the driver and the three occupants received injuries on their bodies. They were taken out of the vehicle by public-spirited citizens and taken to Mahaicony Public Hospital, where the driver died while receiving medical attention.
The three occupants were admitted for medical observation. The investigation continues.
