CWSS stamp authority to win MILO schools Football
Linden’s Christiansburg Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) won the 2022 MILO Schools football tournament after a 3-1 win over North Ruimveldt on Sunday evening.
The Ministry of Education ground played host as the Linden side beat their Georgetown counterparts, fans supporting both sides cheering their units on.
From the get-go, the duo was cautious in their approach to the game, not wanting to give away any early advantage, and it was not until Ryan Arthur, in the 40th minute, gave Linden the lead that the real football began.
After that, things began to get more intense, with several close shaves coming for both sides before the end of the half.
In the second half, both teams returned with the same fighting spirit, and in the 60th minute, Yannick Norton brought the game back to level.
Tooth and nail, the teams fought any inch that would break the deadlock, but when finishing mattered, it was Jamil James in the 75th who put Linden ahead again.
The Georgetown side had no answer, and CWSS pressed the advantage further with Omarian Ramsammy’s 90+1 minute goal.
Kelvin Richardson (10th minute) gave Golden Grove the third place win over Dolphin secondary.
