Carpenter electrocuted while constructing stairway
A 30-year-old Carpenter was on Sunday electrocuted while constructing a stairway at Lot 6 Joseph Street Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is Conrad Spencer of Lot 10 Company Road, Buxton, ECD. The incident occurred at about 09:30h.
Reports are that Spencer was erecting a wooden stairway, and while cutting a plank of wood with an electrical saw, he came in contact with a live wire and was electrocuted.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the 30-year-old carpenter was barefoot at the time of his demise. He was found lying motionless next to the workbench with an electrical saw alongside him and his body facing upwards.
On his right hand, he had what appeared to be burnt marks around the elbow area. The body was escorted to Jerricks Funeral Home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
