Buxton man arrested for assaulting, threatening mother of his child
A 36-year-old man of Middle Walk, Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was taken into custody on Friday night after Police received information that he had allegedly assaulted and threatened the mother of his child.
In a statement, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said at about 23:45h, ranks received information that the man assaulted the mother of his child and even pointed a gun at her when he heard her talking to the Police on the phone.
As such, law enforcement officials went to the location, and the 36-year-old suspect was arrested. A search of the premises unearthed a magazine with 15 live AK-47 rounds of ammunition.
Checks for the firearm yielded no results. Nevertheless, the suspect is in custody pending further investigation.
