Attempted murder accused remanded for escaping lawful custody

Kevin Valladares, who escaped from a moving police van, was remanded to prison for escaping from lawful custody on Friday.
Valladares, a shoe-maker of Lot 370 Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden was hauled before Principal Magistrate Sherdell Issacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
The charge stated that he escaped from lawful custody on April 21, 2022, while being transported to the Lusignan Prison. He was remanded to prison until May 4, 2022, for sentencing.
On Thursday, Valladares was remanded for attempted murder but escaped sometime between 16:00hrs and 16:10hrs somewhere in the vicinity of Sparendaam.
