2 arrested after stabbing labourer, 18, to neck at Kumaka Water Front
An 18-year-old labourer was on Wednesday stabbed to the neck after being chased and beaten by two men at Kumaka Water Front, Mabaruma, North West District (NWD).
The dead teen has been identified as Jude Christino. The incident occurred at about 02:00h.
The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that the victim and two males were seen arguing. As the victim tried to run away, both males gave chase and started to beat him.
An eyewitness told Police that one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim to his neck, causing him to stumble and fall. They both then escaped in an eastern direction, leaving the victim lying motionless.
Police were summoned to the scene, and the victim was escorted to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a Doctor who pronounced him dead on arrival.
The body was placed in the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). The CCU noted that two persons have been arrested and are in custody, assisting with investigations.
