William Mittelholzer, 51, of Lot 179 Republic Gardens, Georgetown, and Anthony Cadogan, 42, of Lot 84 Adelaide Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, were arrested on Tuesday after $2.2 million worth of cocaine was found in the vehicle in which they were in.

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said it conducted an operation at Goed Fortune Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD), where motor van GAC 8942 was intercepted.

A search of the van led to the discovery of two brick-like parcels of suspected cocaine. The duo was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters.

The narcotics tested positive for cocaine and had a total weight of 2.174 kilograms and a street value of $2.2 million. Investigations are ongoing.
