Man charged with armed robberies remanded

Andrew Ridley called “Orin” was today remanded after he denied two-armed robbery charges before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.


It is alleged that on January 24, 2022, at Calendar & James Streets, Albouystown, Georgetown, while being armed with a gun, he stole three cellphones, three gold chains, two gold bands, ten rings, and a purse, totaling over $4.5 million - property of Carla Stevenson.


He pleaded not guilty and was remanded until February 16. The court further heard that Ridley, on December 13, 2021, at Independence Boulevard, stole a motorcycle valued at $235,000 – property of Alex Blaire.


For this matter, a date was set for him to pay for the damages of the bike. He will make another court appearance on February 16, 2022.


Last year August, Ridley was remanded on another set of robbery charges.
