-For Orin Boston Shooting

Several days after Police Constable Sherwin Peters was released on one million dollars bail on man slaughter charges for the shooting of popular Essequibo businessman Orin Boston aka ‘bat’, residents are no calling for him to be slapped with murder charges.

The residents of Essequibo made this call by staging a protest exercise early this morning at the Dartmouth Bridge (the main access bridge).

It is reported that the protest started around 04:00 hrs.

Residents were seen holding up banner which read "JUSTICE FOR ORIN BOSTON AKA BAT".

They also burnt tires and several other materials in front of the bridge which resulted in the flow of traffic being disrupted.

After several months of the shooting it was the Director of Public Prosecution who recommended that the 32 year old police man be charged with man slaughter charge.

Regional commander of region two Denise Griffith on a previous episode of “Police and You" had warned that the situation of Boston’s death was not directly calm. She has since pledged to ensure that justice is served to the business man family.

This will be the second time the residents have protested following Boston Death.

He was described as a "peaceful" and "outgoing" individual by his family.

This is a developing story and we will bring you the detail as it unfolds.
