Argument over a woman led to shooting at Issano Main Road

Police in Region Seven are hunting for a man, 20-year-old Shamar Adrian, of Byderabo Road, Bartica, during an argument over a woman.

According to the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the incident occurred at about 04:00h this morning at 14 Miles, Issano Main Road.

Reports are that the suspect and the victim were at the location when a heated argument over a woman ensued.

During the quarrel, the suspect allegedly drew a handgun from his waist, pointed it in Adrian’s direction, and discharged a round, which struck him to the lower lip.

After committing the act, the CCU noted that the suspect made good his escape on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim became unconscious but regained consciousness while relatives were transporting him to the Troy Resources Medical Center for medical treatment. His condition is regarded as serious.
